About the Mission:
This veteran honorably served this country from December 1967 to December 1969, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was schooled to be an Intelligence Specialist/Draftsman Map, serving with Battery "D", 2nd Batallion, 10th Artillery, 197th Infantry Brigade. He attained the rank of SP5, being awarded Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/2 Bronze Stars,Vietnam Campaign Medal w/1960 device and Expert Badge (M-14) and Sharpshooter Badge (M-16) .
After his military service, William was an auto mechanic, and then worked as a sporting goods manager for Kmart where he retired. He was also a member of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 11. The family has requested Patriot Guard Riders to stand and honor him.
