About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders has been invited to participate in a 100th Birthday Celebration event for Mr. Edward Born, a WWII US Army Veteran. Edward enlisted on February 23, 1944, served until March 28, 1946 in Germany, and attained the rank of Technician 5. For his service he earned Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle East Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and a Rifle Sharp Shooter Badge. Edward stayed in Germany after the War to help clean up and restore order.

He met his wife, Nancy, shortly after receiving his Honorable Discharge and married her in November of 1947. They purchased their home in Hicksville in 1950 and raised their family, 2 boys, 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Sadly, his wife Nancy passed this past June 2025. They would have been married 78 years and together for over 80 years

This is a drive-by event with an opportunity to return to the home to wish Edward a Happy Birthday and thank him for his service.
