About the Mission:

The family of retired United States Air Force Technical Sergeant William R. Stuart has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services.  William, 89, passed on 6 December 2024.

William was a 1954 graduate of Wells High School in Wells, NY.  He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1955 and had a distinguished career as a Communications Center Supervisor (AFSC 29170).  Over the course of his career, his overseas assignments included Spain, Vietnam, Germany and Italy, as well as stateside in Oklahoma and Texas.  Among his many awards, he received the Air Force Commendation Medal for his meritorious service while stationed at Tan Son Nhut Airbase in Vietnam in 1968, and a Department of Defense Joint Service Commendation Medal for his outstanding service while assigned to the Fourth Allied Tactical Air Force headquarted at Naples, Italy in 1974. William retired from the 7th Bomb Wing - SAC (Strategic Air Command) at the rank of Technical Sergeant (E-6) on 30 June 1976 with almost 22 years of honorable service.

We will stand a flag line for the dignified transfer, and then escort to Algonquin Cemetery in Wells, NY.  Expected to have military honors funeral services at 11:30 am.
