About the Mission:
The family of Tyler Matthew Stricklin has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services. Tyler, 34, of Ballston Spa and Stephentown, NY, died June 27, 2025 at Columbia NY Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Berlin, NY.
Born in in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Tyler was raised in Battle Creek and was a graduate of Lakeview High School. He enlisted in the US Army on 10 August 2009 and trained as an Infantryman (MOS 11B10). He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment at Ft. Carson, Colorado and was later deployed to Afghanistan for a 4 month tour of duty. He was honorably discharged on 11 March 2013 at the rank of Specialist (E-4), and for his service, was awarded; Combat Infantry Badge, Army Good Conduct Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal w/2 Campaign Stars and a Global War on Terrorism Medal.
After his military service, Tyler received two associate’s degrees from Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY in business and science and planned to start in the fall to complete his bachelor’s degree in psychology to later study for his law degree in family law. Tyler was employed by Polyset in Mechanicville where he was highly respected in shipping and receiving.

Special Information:
Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the last hour of Visitation, from 12:00 - 1:00 pm. There will be a funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm followed by a dignified transfer and escort to St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterford, NY 12188 for interment with military honors.
