About the Mission:

The family of Thomas Lee Sears has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services.  Thomas, 81, formerly of Spring Hill, Florida, died on October 3, 2025 at his home.

Born on August 2, 1944 in Albany, NY, Tom was a graduate of Cohoes High School.  He enlisted in the US Navy on 27 June 1963, and was trained as Aviation Ordnanceman.  He served on active duty for almost 4 years, including 3 1/2 years of foreign and/or sea service aboard the USS Enterprise (CVAN 65), the first US Navy nuclear-powered aircraft carrier.  He was honorably discharged at the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class, and for his service, was awarded; National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/1960 Device. 

Following his military service, Tom entered a career as a merchant marine for Mobil Oil, eventually attaining the position of Chief Engineer while employed by Dyn Marine, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey.
