About the Mission:

The family of Stephen D. "Stevie" Leone has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Stephen, 81, of Catskill, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

Born in Tampa, FL, Stephen attended St. Patrick's Academy and Catskill High School before enlisting in the United States Air Force on 24 January 1961. He served for 3 years and 4 months on active duty as a Cook (AFSC 62250), including 1 year and 9 and 1/2 months overseas assigned to the RAF Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire, UK. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Airman 2nd Class (E-3) on 27 May 1964, and for his service, was awarded a Good Conduct Medal.

After his service, Stephen worked at Dunn Building Supplies for two years before working at General Electric in Selkirk, where he worked for 32 years until his retirement in 2001. He was a life member of A.O. Osborn Hose Co. #2, and a life member of the Catskill Elks Lodge #1341.

Special Information:

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the arrival of family and guests. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 am, followed by a dignified transfer and rider escort to St. Patrick's Cemetery for interment with military honors.

Note: The cemetery is only one half mile from the funeral home. After standing down from the dignified transfer, cagers will be asked to proceed directly to the cemetery and establish a flag line, graveside, for the arrival of the cortege. Roadways within the cemetery are very narrow. Please park only in the area designated on the map.  Click here to view the cemetery map
