About the Mission:
The family of John Lawrence "Butch" O'Grady has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. John, 82, of Troy, passed on Thursday, November 13, 2025.
Born in Troy, NY, John was a graduate of St. Patrick’s School and LaSalle Institute, Class of 1961. He enlisted in the United States Army on 6 February 1963, and spent almost 3 years on active duty. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist 5th Class (E-5) on 4 February 1966, and for his service was awarded: a Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter Badge (Rifle), Sharpshooter Badge (Carbine) and Expert Badge (Carbine). He completed his inactive reserve obligation on 5 February 1969.
John retired from a lengthy career at General Electric Silicone in Waterford, where he was a Plant Leader. He was a Life-Member of the Veterans Of Lansingburgh, a member of the Friends of 112th Street, the All-Troy Athletic Club “ATAC”, the BPOE #141, Troy Lodge of Elks and served as the Catholic Central High School Girls Softball Coach for 33 years.

Staging at the church with a flag line for the last hour of visitation, 09:30 - 10:30 am. Mass will be conducted at 10:30 am, followed by escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for interment with military honors.
