About the Mission:
The family of Joan Marie Madigan Koch has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in her military honors funeral services. Joan, 92, passed on 19 December 2025.
Born in Troy, NY, Joan was a graduate of Catholic Central High School. She enlisted in the United States Navy during the Korean War, on 12 November 1952 and was trained as a Teleman, an administrative and communications‑support specialist. She served for 4 years on active duty at the U.S. Navy Hospital St. Albans, NY and the U.S. Naval Correspondence Center. She was honorably discharged on 9 November 1956 at the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class (E-4) and a rating of Teleman (TE3). For her service, she was awarded a Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal.
After her military service, Joan was employed by the New York Telephone Company. There is no obituary available at this time.
