About the Mission:

The family of Jerry Gene Maiorano has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Jerry, 79, passed peacefully on December 30, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Born on July 7, 1946, in Schenectady, NY, Jerry was a 1964 graduate of Mont Pleasant High School He furthered his education at SUNY Cobleskill and later attained his BA from Empire State College. He entered active duty in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, on 16 December 1966, and served for almost 2 years as a Clerk Typist (MOS 71B20). His time included just over 1 year of service with Company "B", 3rd Battalion, 36th Infantry, USAREUR, Germany. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist 4th Class (T) and completed his inactive reserve obligation on 15 December 1972. For his service, he was awarded a National Defense Service Medal.

After his military service, Jerry embarked on a meaningful career with the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance, retiring after over three decades of public service.

Special Information:

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the final hour of Visitation, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 pm, followed by escort to, and interment with military honors at St. Joseph Cemetery, 100 Kings Rd., Schenectady, NY 12304.
