About the Mission:
The family of Edward L. "Skip" Daniels III has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Edward, 76, of Clifton Park, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025.
Born in Amsterdam, NY, Edward was a 1966 graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School. He enlisted in the United States Army on 29 November of that year, and after completing basic training, was trained as a Light Weapons Infantryman Parachutist (MOS 11B1P). He was sent to Vietnam while assigned to the 101st Airborne, 502nd Infantry Reconnaissance Group, known as the Black Beret. He completed a 10 month tour of duty in Vietnam, and was honorably discharged at the rank of private First Class on 28 November 1969. For his service, he was awarded; a Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/1960 Device, Combat Infantryman's Badge and Parachute Badge.
After his military service, Edward was the owner of Daniels Painting Company and worked closely with The Michaels Group and Tri City Rentals.
