About the Mission:

The family of David W. Viviano, Sr. has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. David, 77, passed on 1 January 2026.

Born in Albany, NY, David was a graduate of Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School. He enlisted in the US Navy Reserve, and was called to active duty on 21 June 1967. He served for a total of 3 years and 6 months as a Yeoman (Specialty 2500), and was assigned to Commander Carrier Anti-Submarine Air Group Fifty Four (CVSG-54) at Naval Air Station Quonset Point, RI. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Seaman (E-3) on 1 November 1968, and completed his inactive reserve obligation on 20 April 1971. For his service, was awarded a National Defense Service Medal.

Following his military service, David was employed by CSX for over 30 years.

Special Information:

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the final hour of Visitation, 11:00 - 12:00 pm. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 pm, followed by escort to and interment with military honors at Elmwood Cemetery, 922 US Route 9W, Selkirk, NY 12158.
