About the Mission:
The family of David J. "Dave" Mahler has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services. David, 57, of Warrensburg, passed away July 6, 2025.
Born in Albany, NY, on September 6, 1967, David grew up in Warrensburg, where he excelled in football and basketball at Warrensburg Central School. After high school, David entered the US Army on 14 November 1989. He was trained as a Cannon Crewmember (MOS 13B10), and served on active duty during the Persian Gulf War and Operation Desert Storm. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Private (PV-2) on 25 February 1993, and for his service, was awarded; the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Southwest Asis Service Medal w/3 Bronze Service Stars, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Expert Badge - Grenade and Marksman Badge - Rifle.
Following his honorable discharge, David returned home to the North Country, where he worked in various roles, most recently at Cascades Paper Company.
