About the Mission:
The family of Daniel Lapitsky has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Daniel, 91, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025.
Dan was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on 30 November 1954, and was trained as a Jet Fighter Mechanic (AFSC 43151C). He spent 4 years on active duty while assigned to Detachment 1, Headquarters 26th Air Division (SAGE), Air Defense Command (ADC), located at Roslyn Air Force Station in East Hills, Nassau County, New York. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Airman 1st Class (E-4) and for his service, was awarded; Air Force Good Conduct Medal and an Air Force Longevity Service Award. He completed his inactive reserve obligation on 29 November 1962.
After his military service, Dan worked at Decora in Fort Edward, maintaining equipment. He was a skilled mechanic and could often be found in his garage tinkering.
