About the Mission:
The family of Clarence Waters Hale, Jr. has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services. Clarence, 87, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025.
Clarence graduated from Guilderland High School and then started his career with the US Army and Army National Guard. He served for 22 years, with an AFSC/MOS of Food Service Specialist (94B30), and Tracked Vehicle Repairman (63H30). He retired from the New York National Guard at the rank of Specialist 6th Class (E-6) on 21 February 1981. For his service, he was awarded; Armed Forces Reserve Medal w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal w/2 Devices, New York State Long and Faithful Service Medal, and an Expert Badge - Rifle (M-16).
Clarence made his career as a mechanic and driving CDL trucks. He was a mechanic for Niskayuna schools for 20 years. In his later years he drove a bus for Granville Central Schools. He always loved cooking and was known to be the cook at his motorcycle events with The Roamers of Schenectady, and dreamed of riding his motorcycle to Alaska one day.
