About the Mission:
The family of Charles F. "Chuck" Larson has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Charles, 86, of Eggleston St., passed away Monday, July 28, 2025 at Glens Falls Hospital following a short illness.
Born on January 19, 1939 in Erie, PA, Chuck was a graduate of Wesleyville schools. He served a total of 9 years and 8 months in the Navy during the Cold War and Vietnam War Eras. His time included 3 years and 5 months of sea duty aboard the USS Claud Jones (DE-1033), a Destroyer Escort. He was honorably discharged on 21 March 1967 at the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class, with a rating of Internal Communication Electrician (IC2). For his service, he was awarded; a National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal.
Following his military service, Chuck was employed by New York Bell in Middletown for several years. He then worked many years for the New York State Department of Corrections, first at the Goshen Center for Boys Correctional Facility, and then for many years at the Mount McGregor Correctional Facility in Wilton until his retirement. He was a member of the Middletown Elks Lodge, the William J. Varney American Legion Post 862 of Lake Luzerne, the Onterio Vol. Fire Department in Middletown, and was a volunteer with the Glens Falls Greenjackets Football team for several years.

We will arrive during family time and stand flag line until 12:00 Noon. There will be a short break for prayer service, then a dignified transfer and escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 2 pm service.
