About the Mission:

The family of PFC Matthew J. Bey has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Matthew, 23, passed unexpectedly on 15 April 2025 while on active duty at Fort Hood, Texas.

Matthew graduated from Kingston High School in the year 2020, in the middle of COVID. After a short time working full time, he made an honorable choice to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Army. Nobody felt more patriotic about their country than Mattie. During this time, he was deployed to Poland and Germany and earned the rank of Private First Class. His last station was Fort Hood, Texas where many of his unit remain. For his service, he was awarded a National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.

Matthew loved the great outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He cherished the ocean, beach, mountains, forest and all the wildlife they contained. Adventurous and fearless, Mattie brought joy and laughter to those around him with his kind, caring and compassionate spirit. He had a smile that was infectious to everyone he met. He was especially fond of his canine companions, Gunner, Jamo, Ted and Cooper.

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the dignified transfer. Escort to Rosendale Plains Cemetery in Tillson to follow. Various motorcycle clubs are expected to take part in the escort.
