Albany Veterans Day Parade
All Military Branches

Albany, NY - 11/11/2025
Mission applies to the following Region(s):
Region 4, Region 5, Region 6
About the Mission:
Once again, Albany Veterans Day celebration organizers have requested that Patriot Guard Riders participate in the City of Albany’s Annual Veterans Day Parade. This year’s Parade will be held on Tuesday, November 11th in downtown Albany, NY. Parade will step off at 11:00 am and will proceed down Central Ave to Washington Ave to the reviewing stand on the steps of the NYS Education Building.
The parade committee, made up of local veteran groups, will this year honor Thomas A. Regan, US Navy - serving aboard the USS Suribachi while in the Mediterranean -1965 to 1967. In 1985, Tom was given the "Keys to the City" by Albany Mayor, Thomas Whalen for catching two girls who had jumped from the second floor of a burning building. He was honored by Trustco Bank in 2013, by Albany County in 2025 as a distinguished Veteran, again by Albany County in 2025 as "Senior of the Year" and by the Christian Brothers Academy in 2025. Tom is also the founder of the Please Remember Me Foundation.
One word - FLAGS !! - This is a great opportunity to fly the Flag. A motorcycle parade with flags flying is a sight to behold. Now the parade is walk speed so if you can, attach your flag to your bike that can withstand the rigors of walk speed then please do so - heavy duty zip ties will work wonders in attaching poles to your bikes - so please give this some consideration. Any flag size will do - the bigger the better - 3' x 5' is the usual flag size we fly.
While in parade formation, don't be shy about making "a little noise" - we ride motorcycles - let the people see and HEAR us. As usual, when we get to the reviewing stand we will salute the Grand Marshall and let the reviewing stand "hear and feel the thunder".

Special Information:
Staging area - The rally point for this event is the new route that was planned on Memorial Day - Central Ave and Robin St.
While Central Ave is open until about 10:30 am, early arrivals will park on Central Ave near the intersection with Robin St. Once Central Ave is closed, PGR will take up our spot - two abreast on the yellow center line of Central Ave at the intersection with Robin St.
As was on Memorial Day - this parade route has been somewhat shortened. KSU for parade is 11:00 – we’ll probably start to move 11:30 am – 11:45 am. Patriot Guard Riders will be the last organization in the Parade – saving the best for last. Our participation is dependent on whether PGR will be requested for an Honor Funeral Mission - PGR then will stand down from parade.
Is there a Second Stage to this Mission?
