About the Mission:
Patriot Guard Riders of New York has been invited to participate in honoring another hero. Thomas E. Kenealy enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1951 and served his country for four years, attaining the rank of SSgt. Thomas received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Thomas continued serving in the Air Force Reserve. What started as a military assignment soon transformed into a lifetime of dedication to honoring veterans.
He lived all of his adult life in Rome where he endeavored to serve his community and fellow veterans. He was a member of the Stanwix Veterans Men’s Club, the Memorial Day Association, Steczko Post, The Camden Continental Fife and Drum Corps, the Veterans Counsel of Rome, the Commander of the American Legion Smith Post. He was also a member of the Moose Club and the Toccolana Club. Thomas was instrumental in bringing a B-52 Stratofortress to the then Griffiss Air Force Base as a static display and completing the final design of the Veterans Memorial Park at Griffiss Business and Technology Park.
