About the Mission:
The family of Wayne A. Hughes, United States Army Cold War Era Veteran, has requested Patriot Guard Riders to stand a flag line at his calling hours on Tuesday October 21st. Wayne, 71, of Glen Park, passed away at his home Monday evening, October 13, 2025 with his family at his side.
Born in Watertown, Wayne was a graduate of General Brown High School. He received his associates degree from JCC, receiving the Chancellor's Award. He entered the US Army July 16, 1981. He received several decorations and medals, including; Good Conduct Medal and the Army and Oversea Service Ribbons. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant on June 26, 1987.
Wayne was an EMT for Guilfoyle Ambulance Services, and was also a nationally registered EMT. He worked as a residence employee for JRC and finally retired from Davison Auto. He was a member of American Legion Post 588, and a former member of Glen Park Volunteer Fire Dept. and Ft. Campbell Rescue Squad, as well as a volunteer at Samaritan Medical Center. He enjoyed his Harley Davidson motorcycles, woodworking, restoring antique furniture, and spending time with his grandchildren.

We will stand a flag line from noon to 1pm with a funeral service conducted at 1. We will then do a short escort to the Brownville American Legion.
