About the Mission:

The family of US Navy Veteran Wayne Winfield Grant has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Mr. Grant passed on 1 May 2025 surrounded by his family.

Wayne entered the Navy at age 17 and was trained as a Commissaryman, earning the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class. He served his nation for 28 months on active duty, with 20 months sea service on the USS Guam (LPH-9), an Iwo-Jima class Amphibious Assault Ship. Mr. Grant's last duty station was on the USS Fremont (APA-44), a Bayfield-class Attack Transport. Mr. Grant was honorably discharged 3 November 1966. For his service to his nation, he was awarded; Navy Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Navy Sea Service Ribbon.

Special Information:

Members will stand a flag line for arriving family and guests. After church services and dignified transfer, PGR will escort Mr. Grant and his family to Valley Brook Cemetery, 1524 State Rd. 417, Andover, NY 14806, for interment with military honors.
