About the Mission:

The family of Purple Heart recipient Raul Paul Rodriguez has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Raul passed11 November 2024 at the age of 76 with family at his side.

Born 12 April 1948 in Manhattan, NY, Raul entered the US Army on 30 September 1967.  He was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division, 506th Infantry, serving our nation on active duty for 2 years and 7 months, including a 9 month tour of duty in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged 9 June 1969 in Oakland California. For his service to our nation, Raul was awarded; Purple Heart Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device, Combat Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge and Marksman Badge (M-14).

After his military service Raul entered the workforce as Assistant Associate Director for Erie County NY Police Academy. Raul was a life member of Military Order of the Purple Heart, and DAV, Honorary Member of NY State Sheriff's Institute.

The CDC has changed its COVID-19 protocol recommendations for 2024, updating them to reflect the changing severity and transmission of the virus. Please click here for the latest information and continue to practice common sense distancing protocols while in enclosed locations.

Special Information:

Members will stand flag line for arriving family and guests. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1pm. After a dignified transfer, members will escort the family and our hero to Leicester Cemetery for interment with military honors.
