About the Mission:

The family of US Navy Veteran John W. Prawel has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Mr. Prawel passed 22 August 2025 surrounded by his family.

Mr. Prawel entered the Navy at the age of 17 on 12 July 1962 and was trained as a Electricians Mate. He served his nation for 3 years on active duty, including 19 months foreign/seaservice aboard the USS Okinawa (LPI-13), an Iwo Jima Class Amphibious Assault Ship. Mr. Prawel was honorably discharged at Naval Station, Norfolk Virginia on 28 June 1965. He was awarded; Navy Good Conduct Medal and Foreign/ Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.
