About the Mission:

The family of Jerome Merkle has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Mr. Merkle passed 17 October 2024 with family by his side.

Born in Buffalo, NY on 10 September 1947, Mr. Merkle served our nation from 25 November 1966, with 1 year tour of duty in Vietnam with the Army 23rd Infantry Division, 198th Infantry Brigade. He was honorably discharged 6 October 1968 with reserve obligation ending 24 November 1972. For his service to our nation he was awarded; National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Marksman Badge (M-16) and 2 Overseas Bars.
