About the Mission:

The family of Gary E. Unger has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Mr. Unger passed on 11 August 2025 at the age of 77, surrounded by his family.

After graduating from East High School in Rochester, NY, Mr. Unger entered the US Army, serving his nation for 8 months on active duty at Fort Riley, Kansas where he trained as a Field Wireman (MOS-36K20). He was honorably discharged on 27 December 1967, and for his service, was awarded; National Defense Service Medal and a Marksman Badge - Rifle (M-14).

After his military service, Mr. Unger worked, and retired as a Developmental Aid at Finger Lakes Development Disability Services in Canandaigua, NY.

Special Information:

PGR will stand a flag line for arriving family and guests. At 6pm, military honors will be conducted, followed by plaque presentation and final salute. There is no escort or cemetery and water will be provided by funeral home. Thank you for standing for Mr. Unger and his loving family
