About the Mission:

The family of Vietnam War Veteran Daniel A. Mayer has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Mr. Mayer passed on 25 July 2025 at the age of 77, surrounded by his family.

Mr. Mayer entered the Army on 17 June 1968, serving his nation for 23 months of active duty, including a 12 month tour of duty in Vietnam attached to the 4th Infantry Division Artillery Command in the Central Highlands, based at Camp Enari, near Pleiku, South Vietnam. He was honorably discharged on 27 May 1970 at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland. For his service to his nation he was awarded, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/1960 Device, 2 Overseas Bars, Sharpshooters Badge (M-14) and Expert Rifleman Badge (M-16).

This honor mission is a region 1 mission out of Livonia N.Y. Members will stand flag line for arriving family and guests for Mr. Mayer's military honors interment. Please do what you can to honor Mr. Mayer and support his family. Please dress for the weather and bring water. Honors are at 11:00 am.
