About the Mission:

The family of Vietnam Veteran Andrew John Hastee has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Mr. Hastee passed 16 November 2008 at 65 years old surrounded by his family.

Mr. Hastee served his nation in the Navy from 1961 to 1968, trained as Electrical Repairman with 13 months sea service in Vietnam on the USS Hoel (DDG-13), a Charles F. Adams-class destroyer. The Hoel carried out gun fire and guided missile support during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged at Naval Station San Diego, California on 13 September 1968 as Petty Officer 2nd Class (E-5).  He was awarded; Navy Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/ Bronze Campaign Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/'60 Device.

After his military service, Mr. Hastee worked at Batavia, NY, VA Hospital as an Elevator Repairman and Estimator Forman until he retired in 1994.

Members will stand flag line for arriving family and their hero. At 2pm, military honors will be conducted. Dress for the weather and bring water. Thank you for standing for our veterans
