About the Mission:

The family of Korean War and Cold War veteran Albert F. "Bud" Clancy has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in honoring his life and service. Mr. Clancy of Livonia, NY/Hagerstown, MD passed away on 25 October 2024 at the age of 91.

Mr. Clancy served our nation for 3 years on active duty in the US Army Corps of Engineers from 1950-1953. Assigned to the 1428th Engineer (Float Bridge) Company, 578th Engineer Combat Battalion, 40th Infantry Division Mr. Clancy served 21 months in Korea during the war. Mr. Clancy received his honorable discharge from active duty on 18 October 1953 with the rank of Sergeant, and he earned the following awards: Army of Occupation Medal (Japan); National Defense Service Medal; Korean Service Medal w/2 Bronze Service Stars (3 Awards); and the United Nations Service Medal (Korea.)

Mr. Clancy was a Past Commander of Harrison-Lee Post 283 American Legion in Livonia, and he was a member of Lima VFW Post 26. Mr. Clancy was a founder of Livonia Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9028.

There is no escort involved in this Mission.  PGR will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and their loved one, and during the 11:00 AM interment service and military honors.  Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, and dress for the weather.
