About the Mission:

The family of Technical Sergeant Walter W. Shearing has invited Patriot Guard Riders participation in his Highway Dedication Ceremony in Gainesville, NY.  Sergeant Shearing was killed in action during the Western Allied invasion of Germany in 1945. His burial was at the US Military Cemetery, Saint-Avold France.

For his bravery and sacrifice,  WWII "Greatest Generation" soldier TSgt. Walter W. Shearing was awarded; Bronze Star Medal (2 awards), Purple Heart Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge and an American Defense Service Medal.

Special Information:

Members will form flag line along Eddy Rd. for arriving family and dignitarys. Assemblyman David DiPietro and Senator George Borrello will be present for the dedication. Ceremony will be at 11:00 am. Please dress for the weather and thank you for supporting our hero and his family.
