About the Mission:
The family of Vietnam Veteran James A. Held has requested Patriot Guard Riders to participate in his military honors funeral services. Mr. Held passed19 June 2025 surrounded by his family.
Mr. Held entered the Marine Corps on 6 April 1966, and trained as a Helo Mechanic/Crew Chief for CH-46 Helicopters. He served his nation 3 years 11 months active duty, including a 13 month tour of duty in Vietnam. Mr. Held was honorably discharged as Lance Corporal on 3 April 1970 at Marine Corps Air Station New River, Jacksonville, NC. For his service to his nation, Lance Corporal James A. Held was awarded; Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/2 Bronze Stars and a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device.

Members will stand a flag line for arriving family and guests. After mass and dignified transfer, PGR will escort Mr. Held and family to Lakeside Memorial Cemetery, Field of Valor, for military honors and interment.
