About the Mission:

We have been requested to escort the remains of US Air Force Veteran / LAPD Officer Joseph A. Marrone, Jr. from JFK airport to the Chappey & Sons Funeral home in West Islip, NY. This veteran served six years nine months honorably. He was a Law Enforcement Journeyman and attained a rank of Senior Airman. He was awarded AF Commendation Medal, AF Outstanding Unit Award w/ 2 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, AF Good Conduct Medal w/1 Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal w/ 2 Bronze Stars, AF Longevity Service Award Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship, AF Overaeas Ribbon Long Tour, AF Overseas Ribbon Short Tour, AF Training Ribbon and USAF NCO PME Graduate Ribbon.

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

Meet at PAPD headquarters to move to staging area in airport to await arrival of veterans casket. Bring your bike flags if you have them. There will be LEO escort.

Second Stage - Special Information:

Bring your flags for a dignified transfer and escort to mass at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, 455 Hunter Ave, West Islip, NY 11795 for a 9:30am mass. After mass there will be an escort to Calverton National Cemetery.  LEO is scheduled for this escort as well.
