About the Mission:

John K. Welch faithfully and honorably executed his duties to our nation in the US Marine Corps as Military Police, honorably discharged at the rank of 1st Sgt. He was well known and a friend to many.

Decorations for his service include the following: Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Ribbon w/1 Bronze Star, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy & Marine Corps Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, USMC Good Conduct Medal w/2 Bronze Stars, Marine Corps Expeditionary Ribbon, National Defense Service Ribbon, Kosovo Medal Ribbon, Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy & Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon, Marine Corps Security Guard Ribbon.

His family requests Patriot Guard Riders to participate in his final honors.

Please form a flag line for the arrival of funeral cortege from Mangano Funeral Home, upon which time a dignified transfer will be performed. Mass to begin at 10:15AM. Dignified transfer and escort to Calverton National Cemetery to follow mass.
