About the Mission:
This veteran faithfully executed his duties to this country. He entered the US Navy from the Naval Aviation Cadet V-5 (WW II) program as an Ensign. He served from 1960 until 1966 making the rank of Lieutenant in 1964. He was schooled on Guided Missiles and served on the USS Antietam (CVS-36), an Antisubmarine Warfare Support Aircraft Carrier. His last duty station prior to separation was at Pacific Missile Base in California. The family has requested Patriot Guard Riders to stand and honor him.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
RC Merkle will be at active duty Janil Gonzalez mission with RC Mike. This mission should come in about 12 noon and Gonzalez mission should be done. Please dress for the weather and hopefully some members can stay to help with this honor. If timing goes well there will be time to get something hot and warm up in your cars. Again please dress for the bad weather.
