About the Mission:

Mr. Hupfer honorably served his country from June 1952 to June 1956 during the Korean War era. He served on the USS HJ Ellison DD-864 as a radioman and attained a rank of Petty Officer 2nd. He was awarded the European Occupation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the National Defense Service Ribbon. He then went on to serve in the reserves from 1956 to 1962. The family has requested Patriot Guard Riders to stand and honor him.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

Please have your flags for a dignified transfer at the funeral home. An escort will then accompany friends and family to Our Lady of Grace RC Church, 700 Albin Ave., West Babylon for a 10 am mass. After mass an escort will respond to Calverton National Cemetery after passing the family home.
