About the Mission:
Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, our mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 3,800 additional locations, including Long Island National Cemetery, in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad. We are fortunate to receive and place up to 40,000 wreaths.at Long Island National Cemetery this year.
Our schedule for the day is as follows:
07:15 AM KSU of an escort of trucks from Huntington Hilton to LINC
08:00 AM Trucks unloaded onto roadways inside LINC
10:00 AM Unloaded trucks to be moved out of the cemetery
12:00 Noon Ceremony
12:30 PM - 4:00 PM Laying of Wreaths
**WREATH PICKUP will be on 21 January 2023. The mission will be posted in advance of that date.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
Escort of eight tractor-trailers from the hotel approximately 3 miles to Long Island National Cemetery. Possible LEO escort - unknown at this time. KSU 7:15 AM

Second Stage - Special Information:
We are bringing eight tractor-trailers into the cemetery and staging them in front of the Sections designated to be covered with wreaths.Those trailers will be unloaded along the roadway, using scores of volunteers from high schools across the area. PGR members will be asked to supervise and manage these young volunteers and guide the public into proper parking positions.

We will stand a flag line during the Memorial Ceremony in front of the Shelters, after which we will move to the designated Sections to ensure that the public is respecting the property and procedures.
