About the Mission:
Vincent "Jimmy" James DePalo faithfully and honorably executed his duties to our nation in the US Army Air Forces during World War II. He enlisted on 17 October 1941, and while serving overseas in 1942 – 1943 as Airplane Mechanic-Gunner (MOS 748), he participated in aerial combat missions in Egypt, Libya, Sicily and Tunisia. He was honorably discharged as Technical Sergeant on 31 August 1945.
For his service, Vincent was awarded the following decorations: Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal w/2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, and American Defense Service Medal.
His loving family requests Patriot Guard Riders stand for this American Hero who surely stood for us.
