About the Mission:
Mr. Gruber faithfully served his country during the Korean War with 1 year 3 months 18 days of foreign service. He was attached to 557 Signal Radar Rel. Co., attaining the rank of Corporal. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal w/ 3 Bronze Stars, United Nations Service Medal, and Merit Unit Citation. He returned home, married, and raised his family while working for the Long Island Railroad. He was an avid fisherman traveling Long Island, especially Montauk Point. The family has asked Patriot Guard Riders to stand and honor him for his service.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
Please bring your flags to stand in honor at the funeral home for a dignified transfer. There will be a mass at Saint Joseph's RC Church, 45 Church St. Ronkonkoma for a10 am mass. After the mass, we will drive past his home on way to Calverton ETA 11:30 to 11:40.
