About the Mission:
The family of Roland J. Stern has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his extraordinary life and service. Roland was a proud US Marine serving as a Unit Stockman during the Vietnam War. His awards include .45 Caliber Sharpshooter and M1 Rifle Marksmanship Badge.
After his military service, Roland joined the Suffolk Police Department and served 37 years ending with an assignment in the Marine Bureau. Roland was known to have a heart of gold and often helped the homeless and anyone less fortunate than him.
