About the Mission:

John Baptisto Fiore faithfully and honorable executed his duties to our nation with the 1st Air Cavalry Division as a light weapons infantryman (11B20) in the US Army.  He enlisted on 16 September 1968 and was honorably discharged on 4 September 1969 at the rank of SP4(T.) He remained in Army Reserve until 15 September 1974.  For his faithful service, he was awarded the Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device and a Combat Infantryman Badge.

He continued to serve the veteran community for the rest of his life. He was Past Commander of Nassau County VFW and was currently serving as Queens County Commander of the American Legion.

His family requests Patriot Guard Riders to honor his life and service with participation in his final honors.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

UPDATED

Viewing will take place at the funeral home from 2PM to 9PM on Tuesday.  We will attend the American Legion service at 6:30 PM after staging at 6:00 PM. There will be no room to stand a flag line in the chapel, but our attendance will be appreciated.

Second Stage - Special Information:

We will stand a flag line for the arrival of the family. Funeral service begins at 9:30AM at funeral home. Dignified transfer and escort to Calverton National Cemetery will follow the service.
