About the Mission:
Leonard Finz was drafted and served in the US Army from Feb 23, 1943 - August 15, 1946. He completed OCS and was promoted to 2LT and later 1LT. in the Philippines. His service time as an officer was from May 5, 1945 to August 15, 1946. He was only a High School graduate when he was selected by his Commanding Officer to become a member of JAG and successfully defended over 50 GI's in Court Martial trials. He was Troop Movements Officer (MOS 2640) with 668th Medium Port Base K.
In addition to receiving the American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal, he was later awarded the Army Commendation Medal on August 6, 2004 by US Congressman Gary Ackerman. He was also a distinguished member of the US Army Artillery Hall of Fame and the Prestigious US Army O.C.S. Hall of Fame.
Leonard Finz was an accomplished big band professional musician, successful attorney, candidate for US Congress and Senate, and served for 13 years as a New York State Supreme Court Justice in Queens County.

We will stand a flag line for arrival of family and friends. Upon conclusion, dignified transfer and escort to Wellwood Cemetery.
