About the Mission:

Mr. Rypka faithfully served his country from 1973 to 1977. He served at Coast Guard Base, Long Beach California, which has direct support activities for Southern California. He then completed Coast Guard National Motor Lifeboat school in llwaco, Washington. His last duty station was Coast Guard sector Puget Sound, station Quillayute River, Washington where he trained to do rough weather rescues using 47 foot motor lifeboats.. He made rank of E-2 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Coast Guard Good Conduct Medal and Coast Guard Rifle Medal "Marksman".

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

Viewing is from 5 - 9 pm. Family arriving at 4:30 pm. Please bring your flags and stand for any amount of time you are able to. Any time is well appreciated by the family.

Please bring your flags for a dignified transfer, followed by an escort to St. Philip Neri Church , 344 Main St Northport for a 10 am mass. After mass, the procession will go to Long Island National Cemetery.
