About the Mission:
This veteran served his country honoably during two different conflicts; he served during WWII from March 1942 to December 1945, serving mainly with medical units around the States as a Hospital Corpsman. He then served during the Koerean War from September 1950 until February 1952. He was assigned to the 8th Marines, 2nd Marine Division serving as a Medic. He had attained a rank of Hospital Corpsman 2nd, being awarded; the Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Asiatic Pacific Medal w/ 3 stars, WW II Victory Medal, and American Theater Ribbon.
In civilian life, he worked for Nassau-Suffolk Lumber Corp., did construction work in Okinawa and retired from the Hastings Corporation where he was an expeditor for construction jobs. In retirement, he volunteered at the Northport VA Hospital Golf course as well as at the hospital itself. The family has requested Patriot Guard Riders to stand and honor him.
