About the Mission:
This member of the Greatest Generation served from September 1943 to October 1945. He earned qualifications as Aerial Gunner MK, Rifle MKM and Air Crew Badge. He served overseas as a tailgunner on a B-26, completing 35 missions and surviving a crash landing on the Japenese Island Of Tinian. The missions he participated in were Air Offensive Japan, Eastern Mandates, and Western Pacific. He attained the rank of Sergeant, being awarded Air Medal w/3 Oak Leave Clusters, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal w/ 4 Bronze Stars, Distinguished Flying Cross, and Good Conduct Medal. Upon his discharg in October 1945 he joined the New York City Fire Department were he served for 30 years retiring as a Captain. He passed at the age of 101 years old.

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Please bring your flags. After a dignified transfer, escort will proceed to Mt. Pleasent Cemetery for an 11am burial. About one mile east of funeral home.
