About the Mission:

Sergeant Andrew F. Viola proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He served 3 tours of duty in Vietnam and is credited with lifesaving actions he took when a grenade was tossed into the area he and his men occupied. He sustained a serious life-impacting injury while blocking the resulting explosion and minimizing injury to others.

Andrew earned the following awards: Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge and Sharpshooter Badge (Pistol). Please join in Honoring this American Hero at his final services.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

After a dignified transfer at the funeral home, we will proceed to St Josephs Church for mass and thereafter to Calverton Cemetery for military honors.
