About the Mission:
On February 22, 1944, 1LT Heffernan was a navigator on a B-25G Mitchell bomber on a mission to Burma. The plane crashed after bursting into flames and remains of the crew were not found at that time. Investigations from 2017 to 2020 located remains which were identified as this American Hero. Patriot Guard Riders has been asked by the family to escort and stand for this hero as he is finally brought home.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
New York PGR members who wish to join the New Jersey PGR members in the escort from the funeral home in New Jersey to the church, please stage as indicated. Bring your own flags. There will be a dignified transfer into the church for a 10:00 am mass. There will then be a full LEO escort with New Jersey and NY State troopers to Queens, NY.
