About the Mission:
The family of Paula J. Burns has invited Patriot Guard Riders to participate in her funeral services. Paula served in the US Army for 4 years as a Light Wheel Vehicle Mechanic with 1 year of foreign service.
She attained the rank of Specialist and received these awards: Army Service Ribbon, Lapel Button, Sharpshooter Qualification Badge (M-16), Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Good Conduct Ribbon. She also served in the Army Reserves for 4 years. Following her military service Paula worked for over 30 years as a NYS Correction Officer at the Downstate Correctional and Fishkill Correctional Facilities, where she attained the rank of Sergeant.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
Patriot Guard Riders will stand a flag line from 10 to 11:00 am and the time of remembrance at 11:00 am. After the dignified transfer, we will provide an escort to the Fishkill Rural Cemetery for interment and Military Honors.
Following this service, funeral director Joe Shuka has invited PGR members to participate in the Wreaths Across America service at the Fishkill Rural Cemetery starting at 2:00 pm.
