Ralph W. Hansen

About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders has been requested by the family of Ralph W. Hansen to provide an escort on the last leg of the “Pony Express” that is bringing Ralph from Arkansas to his final resting place at the Kensico Cemetery.  His interment will be in the Salvation Army section of the cemetery with the Salvation Army providing honors.

Sgt Hansen served 4 years in the US Air Force as an Aircraft Crew Chief and 2 years in the Air Force Reserves. He received the following decorations: National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal. He continued to serve in the Salvation Army for 33 years, retiring as a Major. Mr Hansen was also a member of the American Legion, Patriot Guard Riders, Christian Motorcycle Association, Gold Wing Road Riders, American Motorcycle Association, ABATE of Arkansas and the United Sidecar Association.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

PGR will stage at the Sonesta Simply Suites hotel where we will meet with Ralph's wife and Joe Maglie in preparation for the escort to the Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY. (KSU about 12:00) The route will take us across the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge.
