About the Mission:
The family of Neil B. Crantek has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Neil, 71, of North Dr. entered eternal rest Friday, May 3, 2024, at home.
Born in Kingston, NY, Neil was a graduate of Saugerties High School Class of 1971. He entered the US Army on 24 April 1972, and served while stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Private First Class on 23 April 1974, and for his service, was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Sharpshooter Badge (Rifle) and Sharpshooter Badge w/Hand Grenade.
After his military service, Neil was employed as an electrician for Local 363 out of New City. Among other projects, he was a member of crews constructing the Nine Mile and Nine Mile II nuclear power plants and IBM Fishkill’s Advanced Semiconductor Research facilities. He was a 50-year member of American Legion Post #1748.

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the dignified transfer. Estimated KSU of 11:30 am, with escort to New Paltz Rural Veterans Cemetery, 81 Plains Rd., New Paltz, NY 12561 for interment with military honors. Travel will be at highway speeds. Please ensure that all flags are securely fastened.
Note: Any members from the Capital District that would like to participate, I will be staging at the new Speedway, 351 Southern Blvd. (Rt. 9W), Albany, NY 12209. KSU from there 09:45 am.
