About the Mission:
The family of Joseph R. Arnold has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Joseph, 80, passed away on July 28, 2023, at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center in Bronx, NY.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Joseph proudly served in the United States Army during the Cold War Era. Enlisting on February 10, 1961, he was trained as a Field Artilleryman (MOS140.00), and served for 2 years and 11 months on active duty, including 2 years and 6 months overseas assigned to "A" Battery, 1st Howitzer Battalion, 8th Artillery in Hawaii. He was released from active duty on 23 January 1964, and was honorably discharged from the inactive reserves on 2 February 1967 at the rank of Private First Class. For his service, Joseph was awarded an Expert Badge (Rifle, M-1).
Following his military service, Joseph worked for over 20 years as a maintenance worker at the Hudson Valley VA Medical Center, Castle Point Campus in Wappingers Falls, New York, until he retired. Joe found joy from the simplest things, he loved music and movies.

Special Information:
Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for dignified transfer. Members will provide escort to Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 US-9, Fishkill, NY 12524, for interment with military honors scheduled for 12:00 pm.
