About the Mission:
The family of James O. Murtaugh has requested Patriot Guard Riders to participate in his funeral services. Mr. Murtaugh served for 4.5 years from Aug 1964 to Feb 1969. His MOS was 0341 Mortarman. During his service he received these awards: Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/device and Marksman Medal (M-14 Rifle).
After his discharge, James was an active Life-Member of the Slater Chemical Fire Department of Glenham for many years. He served as past-President and was a past-Fire Police Captain.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
We will stand a flag line for arrival of family and friends for the Celebration of Life at 11:00 am. Following the Celebration of Life we will stand for the dignified transfer, then provide an escort to the Fishkill Rural Cemetery for interment with Military Honors.
