About the Mission:
The family of Eugene A. Newman has requested Patriot Guard Riders to participate in Eugene's funeral services. Eugene passed on September 30, 2023. He was drafted into the US Army in 1969 and proudly served until his honorable discharge in 1971, then transferred to the Army Reserves until 1975. He served in the 1st Air Cavalry in Vietnam for 1 year and 2 months. Eugene was very proud of his military service and was honored to take part in an Honor Flight in 2019 to Washington, DC. He was awarded these medals/ribbons: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Sharpshooter M14, M16.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
Patriot Guard Riders will stand a flag line during calling hours from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm then stand during the funeral service at the funeral home. Following the service, we will stand for the dignified transfer and then escort to the St. Joachim Cemetery, 325 Washington Avenue, Beacon, New York 12508
